Now we are 100% positive that you already know most of the following helpful tips. However occasionally some of us, due to having a busy lifestyle forgot some of the maintenance required to keep our swimming pools in tip top working order.
Obviously the first thing you should do is remove debris, such as leaves that can easily get in your pool on a daily basis. Long handled pool nets are relatively cheap to buy and a great chore for water wise, teens or older children to do for some quick pocket money. Dad needs to check the filter areas though (safety reasons) in case any debris ends up here or blocking the system.
With our tropical storms, water levels should always be checked. A decent down pour can easily find your pool over flowing! The water level though is important to maintain as it helps maintain the correct balance of your pool chemicals.
Cleaning tiles or pool edges along your water line is another must do. Unfortunately if these areas are left, here you will find the build-up of algae, bacteria and other nasties. Certainly not the ideal conditions to keep your swimming pool in! It’s not has hard as you think to maintain, simply add a bit of elbow grease and scrub down the areas regularly.
PH Levels: should be tested on a regular timetable. Either grab a kit from your local pool shop or take in samples to have them tested. Depending on your results you can add in pH decrease or increaser to ensure correct balance is maintained.
Keeping up a regular maintenance routine will ensure your pool remains its sparkling best, ensures your filtration systems are working at 100% without downtime and your pool is healthy for everyone to enjoy and swim in.
